What Are AMSEC Safes?

They have been manufacturing top quality safes for more than 65 years. Based in Fontana, California- AMSEC designed round door vaults that became the industry benchmark. Later, square doors fashioned from plates of steel were developed in the 1960s as they were more cost efficient. They featured complex networks of bolts and locking mechanisms.
Today, these safes feature a combination of steel plates with concrete to provide a superior level of security. The highest security available with these safes is a rating of TL 15, TL 30, and now TL 30×6 safes.
The Underwriters Laboratory created a guideline of ratings for the safe industry. A TL 15 rating means a safe is tool resistant to a burglar break-in for 15 minutes. A TL 30 rating means the safe is tool resistant for 30 minutes.
These safes are also tested under rigid standards. The electronic locks are tested to a military standard known as Mil 0202-Method 106, which means the lock is bombarded with extreme changes in humidity and temperature. All of these type of safes must pass a rigorous 28-point test.
